Hi - I’m Ashley, welcome!

I recognize that your being here means that you’re thinking of taking the big step of looking for help - and I’m so proud of you for contemplating taking that scary leap of faith to your emotional healing.

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida and New Light Counseling, LLC is my private practice where I provide mental health counseling or therapy.

I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology degree and continued on to get my Master’s Of Science in Mental Health Counseling at Nova Southeastern University.

I began seeing clients in 2018 and have been strengthening my skills and obtaining tools to help clients since then. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist and have been trained in EMDR and ERP.

My clients describe me as warm and empathetic and I strive to create a safe and welcoming space for everyone. I use a non-judgemental approach that I hope encourages honesty and vulnerability even in difficult circumstances. Each of my clients is treated uniquely, with a treatment plan that is tailored to their own needs.

My approach is gentle and honest - I’ve been told I’m very real and straight forward. I utilize a narrative, trauma informed approach with a mindfulness technique. I believe creativity and flexibility as a therapist makes for a great space to do the tough work that is involved in therapy. I have expertise in trauma work, anxiety, depression, life changes or otherwise a general sense of suffering but I am not limited to these areas of work.

I believe that it’s important for a therapist to be aware of their own work to be successful in helping clients. I am a therapist who sees a therapist and continue to work through my own history as I guide my clients through theirs.

In our work together, we will build a rapport that allows you to feel seen, heard and understood. The work will be difficult, with great insights and discoveries but it can also sometimes be fun and we may share laughs and light hearted discussions as well.

When I’m not doing therapy, I’m usually having fun at Disney or shopping and eating at my favorite local spots! I also enjoy spending time with my family and pets, tending to my house plants, watching anime/cartoons, playing video games, or reading.

If you’re interested in scheduling an appointment, I am available for in person appointments in the Altamonte Springs area and also do virtual sessions for all Florida residents.
